Dr. David Horovitz is a board-certified urologist and endourologist who provides comprehensive urologic care in Bakersfield, California through his private practice, David Horovitz, MD, Inc. He treats disorders of the kidneys, bladder, prostate, urethra, and male reproductive system, with a focus on evidence-based solutions that prioritize patient comfort and long-term outcomes. His clinical expertise includes management of urinary tract infections, kidney stones, benign prostate conditions, bladder dysfunction, and cancers of the urinary system. When surgery is indicated, Dr. Horovitz routinely incorporates minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques for conditions involving the kidneys, ureters, prostate, and bladder, as well as procedures for urinary tract obstruction and stone disease.
Dr. Horovitz earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from York University in Toronto, graduating first class with distinction and receiving the Governor General’s Academic Medal for highest academic standing. He obtained his medical degree from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario, then completed internship and urology residency training at the University of Toronto, where he trained at internationally recognized centers including Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He subsequently completed a two-year Endourological Society–accredited fellowship at the University of Rochester in laparoscopic, robotic, and minimally invasive surgery and endourology.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Dr. Horovitz has published peer-reviewed research and remains committed to advancing urologic care in the Kern County community.
